Sex

Therapy

Sex therapy is psychotherapy with individuals or couples that focuses on a particular issue dealing with sexuality.

There are many myths and misconceptions about what sex therapy entails. The therapists at the Empowering Connections Agency value transparency and collaboration with their clients when addressing all presenting problems, especially delicate issues that are connected to sexuality.

Sex therapy may address:

  • Anxiety in the bedroom

  • Arousal Issues

  • Body Image

  • Boredom

  • Depression

  • Desire Differences

  • Fear of Pregnancy (Tokophobia)

  • Fetishes

  • Gender Identity Development

  • Infidelity

  • Mixed Sexual Orientation couples

  • Orgasmic Issues

  • Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) or STDs

  • Sexual Orientation Exploration

  • Sexual Dysfunctions

  • Trauma

  • Trust Issues

Once entering into sex therapy with your expert therapist, confidentiality and safety are the essential values of the work done at the agency.   To protect our clients, we follow the AASECT's (the American Association of Sexuality Educators Counselors and Therapists) Code of Ethics. However, the founder of the Empowering Connections Agency is not a certified sex therapist. Libby Diamond is a doctoral candidate at Widener University's Center for Human Sexuality Studies.
